Purpose

In 2005, I went on a road trip round the Baltic Sea. One of my ideas then was that this adventure would spawn more than just the road trip itself. It did, unexpectedly, cause me to get married. There was a calendar in 2008 based on the photos I took, but the book has not yet emerged.

The other "project" I wanted out of this, was to have representatives from locations along the route to join in on a joint blog that would give an insight into the diversity of life that I only got a glimpse of during the road trip.

I do not have enough connections to do this, however. I need bloggers to join in from:
  • Finland: Pello, Kemi, Oulu, Muhos, Vaala, Kajaani
  • Republic of Karelia: Kostomuksha, Petrozavodsk, along M18 southwards
  • Leningrad Oblast: Lodeynoye Pole, Pasha, Novoya Ladoga, St Petersburg, along M11 west, Ivangorod
  • Estonia: Narva, along E20 west, Tallinn, along E67 south, Pärnu, E67 south to Latvia
  • Latvia: Along E67 to Riga, Jurmala, continue E67 south to Lithuania
  • Lithuania: Along E67, Panevežys, E272 east to Vilnius, E85 west to Kaunas, E67 south to Poland
  • Poland: E67 to Suwalki, 653 to Olecko, 655 to Gizycko, 592 to Bartoszyke, 512 to Pienizno, 507 to Orneta, 513 to Paslec, E77 to Gdansk
  • Sweden: Nynäshamn, Södertälje, E20 til Örebro, E18 til Karlstad, along E45 north to Östersund, Strömsund, Dorotea, 92 east to Åsele, Bjurholm, Umeå, E4 to Skellefteå, Piteå, Luleå, Töre, E10 to Överkalix, 392 to Pajala, 403 to Kolari
  • Finland: Kolari, Muonio
  • Norway: Guovdageaidnu/Kautokeino
